Religious facilities
There are wide choice of religious communities in the Mettmann district.
This is particularly important because keeping up religious practices helps to make many immigrants feel at home.
Around 65% of citizens in the Mettmann district are Christians. Unfortunately, no records are kept about the number of Muslims living in the Mettmann district today. However, it is estimated that around 3.2% of the population are Muslim. This makes the Islamic faith with its different branches the third-largest religious group in Germany.
Mosque organisations which have built a prayer room and/or a mosque in almost all towns in the Mettmann district. The most well-known mosque opened in Wülfrath in 2003.
